New tool: JavaScript Web Resource Manager for Microsoft Dynamics CRM 2011

I didn’t find a way to provide you a JavaScript editor as flexible as the one I created for Microsoft Dynamics CRM 4.0 since the scripts are now in two parts in Microsoft Dynamics CRM 2011: web resource and script call from forms…

Anyway, this new tool allows you to update JavaScript web resources with the following features:

  • Export scripts web resources from CRM server
  • Save scripts web resources to disk
  • Load scripts files from disk
  • Edit scripts with default text editor or Visual Studio
  • Edit web resource properties
  • Save scripts to CRM server
  • Publish scripts to CRM server

It should help you avoid multiple clicks as soon as you want to update a JavaScript web resource…

Thakx for this tools, was using it in v4, and waiting for it. I just have a question, how does it determine the visual studio to use? (I have a vs 2008 for ssrs but want to use the installed vs 2010 to modify the js).

PS : the other tools rock too :)

I will add the possiiblity to choose which version of Visual Studio (2008 or 2010) to use in the next version.

Hi there,

Yes the javascript syntax changed a little but with CRM2011. This is probably causing the error.

There is however an excellent,free, tool to convert CRM4 javascript to CRM2011 javascript.

To outil est vraiment bien et super pratique par contre, je souhaiterai que tu me confirmes que les scripts importé puis déployés, sont importés directement dans le solution par défaut ? Est ce que tu as prévu de pouvoir packager les scripts dans une solution dédiée ?

Bonjour et merci pour le retour positif.

Toute personnalisation se retrouve forcément dans la solution par défaut. Donc, les scripts, via mon outil, se retrouve bien dans cette solution.

Je n'ai pas prévu de faire un package des scripts mais je peux y réflechir.

Hi,

Thanks for nice tool. I have one issue with tool. In visual ribbon editor, I can see js file which is attached to button action event, which is not visible in this tool. Path says "/_static/sfa/leads/lead.js". What I have to do to see this lead.js file.

New XrmToolBox plugin : Import/Export NN relationships

Two plugins in one day! wow! This one was, in fact, developed a couple of months ago. One of my colleague was using a solution from my fellow MVP Andrii Butenko which allows to import/export NN relationships in a silverlight web resource. This was nice but my colleague was using other attributes than primary key to do the mapping and Andrii’s solution does not support this. So he asked me to develop a XrmToolBox’s plugin that could do this. And, here it is! You can select entities and relationships and moreover, choose mapping attributes on both enitities. I only let text and number attributes selectable as other does not really make sense for mapping purposes. Then you can import or export NN relationships! Full featured CRM grid in HTML/JS

In last December, I was asked to write a web resource to display a grid with CRM records. I was quite frustrated because I didn’t succeed to manage some grid features easily like fixed header with horizontal scrolling among others. I delivered a fixed table which was not so bad but absolutely not something that look like the application grid views. So I decided to work harder to find a way to do this CRM style grid view. After some works (almost two full days), I have succeeded to create a full featured CRM grid view by using only JavaScript.
